On Tuesday 13th May the proposed LDP will come before the Briefing
Meeting of Joondalup Council having been amended since it was not
supported by the Policy Committee which recently considered it. If you
made a submission during the Consultation period you should have
received an email notice from the Council today about this meeting.

This Briefing Meeting is the next step in the process and your Action
Group will be making a deputation (presentation) in opposition to the
scheme, before the LDP is submitted to the Monthly Council Meeting on
27th May for approval. As previously advised members of the public are
able to pose written or verbal questions at the Briefing Meeting.

Over recent weeks invitations have been issued to all the Councillors to
meet the Action Group in Connolly to see for themselves the impact
these proposals will have, but as yet none have accepted. We will
continue efforts and hopefully have more success after the Briefing
Meeting.

Also after the Briefing Meeting we shall be trying to attract media
coverage to rekindle interest and raise public awareness of the issue,
and we have created a Facebook page ‘Connolly SOS‘ to assist in this
