Why did the submission numbers change?

Good news is there are still “officially” 539 (out of 633) in OPPOSITION of the proposed LDP, which is 81.15% of respondents. How did the numbers change…

Why did the submission numbers change?

The initial indication of the number of submissions received by the City was as follows:

  • 546 (85.3%) – Opposed to the development
  • 16 (2.5%) – Neutral
  • 78 (12.2%) – For the development

640 Total

We have now been advised that the confirmed final number, after audit, is revised to:

  • 539 (85.15%) – Opposed to the development
  • 17 (2.70%) – Neutral
  • 77 (12.15%) – For the development

633 Total

We are given to understand the process adopted by the City was as follows:

  • An initial count was taken of those opposing, supporting, or were neutral to the proposal
  • Submissions were checked for validity (addresses in City of Joondalup and number of residents)
  • Multiple submissions (of which there were 34) were reconciled
  • Seven submissions were made in correspondence not on the submission form and were rejected reducing the original total advised to 633.
