Joondalup Resort announces change of ownership

Set out below is the text of a communication from Joondalup Resort to golf club members

Dear Members,

I am pleased to inform all members, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders that Dato Low Tuck Kwong, together with his family, has acquired full ownership of Joondalup Resort and Joondalup Country Club and its related entities, effective 9 June 2025.

As part of this transition, I am delighted to introduce the new Board of Directors. Their extensive experience and leadership will guide Joondalup Resort and Joondalup Country Club into a new phase of innovation and growth.

Sam Lee
Sam brings decades of experience in managing entertainment venues, tourism destinations, and golf courses. His strengths in strategic planning, operational efficiency, and cross-cultural business networking will enhance operations, strengthen global partnerships, and ensure sustainable growth.

Elaine Low
Elaine’s professional background is extensive and international. She has held executive and board positions across the energy, healthcare, telecommunications, property, and investment sectors in both Singapore and Indonesia.

David Low
David is a seasoned executive known for his leadership in large-scale project management, financial oversight, and strategic development. He will play a key role in steering investment plans and proposed facility enhancements.

Mike Lee
The youngest member of the board, Mike brings hands-on experience in managing and developing hospitality venues and golf courses. His energy and connection with the younger segment of the hospitality market will support the board in implementing operational best practices and ensuring efficient day-to-day management.

This change in ownership and leadership marks an exciting new chapter for Joondalup Resort and Joondalup Country Club. Backed by a team of dynamic and experienced professionals, we are confident this transition will usher in a new era of growth, innovation, and excellence.

We value open communication and will keep you updated as we progress. Thank you for your continued support.

Warm regards
Sam Lee – On behalf of the Board of Directors

Previously the joint owners were Dato Tuck Kwong Low, Peter Kwee, and James Chan but this announcement means the latter two are no longer involved. The transfer took place on 9th June shortly after the LDP was blocked, and it may be that was a contributory factor in expediting the transaction, we will probably never know.

Hopefully this will mean a revised and more enlightened management style and exclude any ambitions for apartment development!
